About the Design
The Great Western Furnace lies in the middle of the Land Between the Lakes National Park. It is an old iron furnace that was built in 1854 by the Brien Newell Company. The colors I used on the furnace mimic the color of the slag glass you can find in around around these furnaces, I have several pieces I found as a child near these.
